Repair first, replace when it's right
Most opener problems are gears, trolleys, sensors, logic boards, or remotes, and most are fixable on the spot. When an opener is old enough that repair doesn't make sense, we'll say so and quote a new unit with the price up front.
Brands we service
- LiftMaster
- Chamberlain
- Genie
- Craftsman
- Linear
- Marantec
What usually goes wrong
A door that reverses before it closes is almost always the safety sensors, either knocked out of line or blocked. A motor that hums but the door doesn't move is a stripped gear or a broken trolley. A remote that works from the driveway but not the street is a battery or antenna issue, not the opener. Each of these has a fix that costs far less than a new unit.
When a new opener makes sense
If the unit is old enough that parts are hard to get, has no safety sensors, or has failed more than once, a new opener is the better spend. Belt-drive units are quieter than chain drives, which matters if there's a bedroom over the garage.
For new installs Eric fits LiftMaster and Chamberlain openers. Most models now come with Wi-Fi built in, so you can open, close, and check the door from your phone, and some add a built-in camera or a battery backup that keeps the door working through a power outage. He'll walk you through which features are worth paying for on your garage.
New opener installation
Installed, programmed, sensors aligned, remotes and keypad paired, and the door balanced so the new motor isn't fighting it.
Warranty on repairs: 1 year on parts, longer on some products, 90 days on labor. Written on your invoice.

Questions homeowners ask
The opener runs but the door doesn't move. What is it?
Often a stripped gear or a damaged trolley from strain and heavy use. Eric will give you an honest diagnostic and recommendation.
The door starts to close and goes back up.
That's the safety sensors. Something is blocking the beam, or the sensors are misaligned or dirty. Simple fix, and one you shouldn't bypass.
Should I repair or replace my opener?
If it's a reliable brand under about ten years old, repair usually makes sense. Older units, or ones with repeated failures, are often better replaced. Eric will tell you straight either way.
Which openers do you install?
LiftMaster and Chamberlain. Belt drive, chain drive, and wall-mount options depending on your garage.
